I cannot tell you how many times I heard just that during the course of writing The Seventh Shot. I had always hoped beyond hope that new information may come forward to clear the Murder Park Cold Case or other existing cold cases but I never considered that I would hear about and from a woman claiming to be West’s first victim.
The crime in question took place in Scarborough on March 8th, 1969, when a young student attending Teachers’ College, while visiting friends at a ground floor apartment at the corner of Birchmount and Danforth Avenue, was shot through the head, as she sat near a window.
Surprisingly, very little of the incident appeared in the press beyond the compensation doled out by the Crime Board.
The information I have heard is extensive, somewhat shocking and truly compelling and I have asked the victim to share it with you in her own words. The teacher/mother continues to unearth information and seek some resolution some fifty-two years later in the hope that someone remembers something.
Please stay tuned to hear Charlotte’s story in her own words, both on my website and Facebook page.
